X-Men: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

By now, most X-men fans have flocked to the theaters to catch X-Men: Days of Future Past. I haven’t spoken to a single person or read a single review that would suggest the movie wasn’t a great success and with all the interviews with producers and writers, we know this sort of reboot the timeline in the X universe seems to have worked so far.

However, there seems to be one question weighing on everyone’s mind since the cut scene at the end of the credits…

*SPOILERS! Stop here if you haven’t watched the movie yet!*

In the cut scene, we see Apocalypse with his arms raised, building the great pyramids while people below chant his name. Now, for those of you that haven’t gone full on X-geek, Apocalypse’s real name is En Sabah Nur, which is what the crowd is chanting. In the background of the scene in the distance, there are four riders on horses, also known as The Horsemen of Apocalypse. Who they are going to be is the big mystery surrounding the movie at the moment.

Lets go over who is in the movie as of now. We do know that Wolverine and most of the younger cast will be involved in the film along with some new additions. It has already been confirmed that Gambit will be in the flick and seems to be that the studio is in the hunt for a younger Scott, Jean, And Ororo. With the growing list of possibilities, curious fans are wondering if they will use who they have for cast members to make the horsemen, or mix and match some of the returning cast with new cast members.

This one is tough for me because I can picture so many of the cast being a horseman, and in some ways they have all been horsemen in the comics or various TV animations. Here are my predictions of who we will see taking up the horseman mantle in X-Men: Apocalypse:

Wolverine – Being at the center point of the whole X-Men franchise has left me wondering if this hero will turn evil, even if it’s for just a short period of time. He has, after all, been death before in the comics.

Magneto – Apocalypse’s theory of survival of the fittest will play a big part in choosing this man who believes that mutant kind is the next evolution of the world and they are meant to rule and not hide.

Mystique – It always seems to be that where Magneto goes, Mystique is not far behind. Even despite everything that happened in Day of Future Past, I’m very much betting on Mystique being an easy decision as a horseman role.

Gambit – Yup I said it. We’ve waited forever for them to get the Ragin’ Cajun right and I think you’re about to get a version of him you weren’t expecting. Although I do expect once the heroes save the day, we’ll see this man in his new X-role by the end of the film.

I could make a longer list of possibilities but we only get four. With X-Men: Apocalypse set to hit theaters in May 2016 and the studio hard at work right now with casting roles, I’m sure we will have tons of possibilities we could go through and lots of news to come.
