The Last Bastion

The latest Overwatch short is here to see, and the emotional level of it is somewhere between when Bambi’s mom died, and the first 10 minutes of Up. 

We knew who Bastion was, and where he came from. He was an Omnic combatant in the Omnic Crisis sent to the front lines to lay devastation, but somewhere along the way sustained damage and shut down. He was then awoken and now spends his time in peace away from populated areas in fear that people may want to destroy him.

This short gives us much more insight into Bastions nature and the horror of the Omnic Crisis. It also shows us how advanced and sentient that the Omnics were at all levels, not just the models like Zenyatta.

The short is fantastically animated, directed and shows once again how amazing Blizzard can be at bringing emotion to characters that literally spend no other time in the game but mindlessly shooting each other. I would love to see Blizzard take this world and do so much more with it.
