D&D Movie Title and First Look
April 22, 2022Dungeons & Dragons has come a long way since its first movie launched in 2000.
The game is now one of the most valuable entertainment properties in the world and it’s a powerhouse division within the already monstrously successful Hasbro machine.
With new games, new TV shows, and a new film by directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the future has never been brighter for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.
During D&D Direct fans got their first look at the new film (in a still,) got the release date, and a title!
We now know that the film is called Dungeons & Dragons / Honor Among Thieves and will release in theatres on March 3rd, 2023.
Starting a blockbuster cast including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, RegĂ©-Jean Page, and Hugh Grant as the villain, there’s a lot to be excited about in this new film.
Fans also got their first look at the film, in a still that served as a backdrop for their brief message.
Through some intrepid sleuthing Christian Hoffer from ComicBook.com revealed that the image is likely Castle Never, from the City of Neverwinter on Faerun’s Sword Coast.
He compared an image of Castle Never from the MMO Neverwinter to the still and they are very similar. It’s the first of what promises to be many glorious easter eggs for fans to explore.
It’s a great time to love D&D.
