Brandon Routh Joins Arrow Season 3

Will be playing a major character.

The former Man of Steel, Brandon Routh will be joining the cast of Arrow in season three, but he won’t be reprising his role as Superman. This news comes exclusively from TVLine that instead, we will see Routh as Ray Palmer, AKA The Atom.

The Atom, one of DC Comics first superheroes that debuted in the silver age of comics, was an updated version of a character originally created in the 1940’s. His first appearance was in Showcase #34 in October, 1961. Throughout the years he’s had team affiliations with the Teen Titans, S.H.A.D.E. and the Justice League. His abilities include being able to shrink or grow both his body and other objects including to a subatomic level and can manipulate his weight as well.

Arrow will premiere on Wednesday, October 8th on CW.
