Wonder Woman Is Cast!

Zack Snyder has finally found his Wonder Woman!

Gal Gadot has been announced and confirmed by DC Entertainment to be taking the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming film Man of Steel 2 / Batman Vs. Superman. Gal will join Henry Cavil’s Superman and Ben Afleck’s Batman in this much anticipated sequel to the summer blockbuster Man of Steel. When they announced that the film would feature Batman, fans only wanted more and more information. It will mark the first time the two characters have been on the big screen together and after the buzz about Ben Affleck taking up the the Batman mantle, there has been much excitement for more announcements. Having Wonder Woman now on screen for the first time in decades will continue to mark another milestone of yet another first time for all three characters to make a big screen appearance together. Who or what the trio of heroes will be facing is still a mystery. While Zack Snyder has confirmed that it will not follow the Dark Knight Returns comics, ideas will be borrowed from there.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” said director Zack Snyder.  “Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress and model know for her role as Gisele Harrabo in the Fast & Furious franchise. Shooting for the untitled Man of Steel 2 / Batman Vs. Superman film will start early in 2014 with a release date set for July 17th, 2015.
