Warner Bros. and Samsung Team Up for Suicide Squad VR @ SDCC

Here is the deal. And you’ll want to read to the end because this. is. amazing.

Samsung Electronics America Inc. (Samsung) and Warner Bros. Pictures have teamed up and created a virtual reality experience that takes its users into the world of Suicide Squad.

Take that in for a second.

One of the best tech companies in the world has teamed up with the producers of the mostly hotly anticipated film of the year, Suicide Squad, and their VR experience is premiering first at San Diego Comic Con.

Sign. Me. Up.

Using Samsung Gear VR, powered by Oculus, users “will be transported into the world of Suicide Squad, experiencing what it’s like to be a member of the Squad and watching their favourite characters like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Katana in a scene from the film.”

The only thing I don’t know is this: when I put that headset on at Comic Con and I see Harley Quinn look my way…how are they going to convince me to leave!?

If you’re not attending SDCC, have no fear Suicide Squad fans, this experience will be available to everyone beginning on August 5th on Samsung VR, the brand’s premium virtual reality content service.

And here are a few other cool notes for those attending SDCC:

• At San Diego Comic Con, Samsung is recreating the Belle Reve penetentiary, the facility in which the Squad is held at the beginning at the film
• Fans can get custom tattoos in Harley Quinn’s Tattoo parlour
• You can “Join the Squad” and create your own Suicide Squad character then generate a short video of yourself to share on social media
• You can create your own personalized Squad skull and get it printed on a T-Shirt.

I’ve seen a lot of promotion about what’s going on at San Diego Comic Con and this is EASILY the most interesting booth yet.

Warner Bros. and Samsung are going to great lengths to promote Suicide Squad but it is by far the buzziest film of the summer.

It’s going to be a massive hit…just like their booth will be at Comic Con!
