The GCE Interview with Stan Lee (and Podcast!)
Awesome Con, the Washington D.C. comic convention running between June 16-18 this year, invited several members of the press to submit questions and listen in on a conversation with Stan Lee. Luckily for us, our editor Steph was one of these members. The conference call was set up where each member of the press listened in as Awesome Con president Greg Topalian read out their questions.
We figured this accomplishment deserved a big old celebration – such as the launch of our podcast. The GCE Podcast is available on Soundcloud, but should be available on most major podcast hosts in the coming weeks, such as iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, etc. If you don’t see your favorite, please let us know! We’re really excited to be bringing you some of our favorite content in this new way. We can’t wait for you to hear our interviews, roundtable discussions, and wherever else this crazy awesome new venture brings us! We look forward to your feedback and whatever else you may want to share with us.
Back to Stan Lee, because that’s why you’re here.
Stan Lee will also be in attendance at Awesome Con on all three days, which is hosted at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The legend is available for photo opportunities and a Q&A, which are not to be missed.
In this call, Stan Lee reminisces about what it was like to watch Jack Kirby work, the proper spelling for comic book/comicbook and some other fun details about the business. He is candid and warm, and makes sure to drop in at least one excelsior. He also talks about his favorite Marvel movie cameo, which he deems is not really a cameo. You’ll know what all of this means once you give it a listen. For now, just enjoy hearing him speak, it’s really a treat!
