Bungie software engineer Christian Diefenbach revealed that “each location in Destiny would be more or less the size of Halo: Reach”. The forthcoming title is meant to be huge and support massive amounts of characters.
In speaking to Brazilian website Jogos, Diefenbach also revealed that the size of the team working on the game has gone up significantly from Halo, from 130 personnel to a team of 500 to make Destiny happen.
Destiny casts players as Guardians and sees you exploring the wreckage of a human solar empire for secrets, ancient weapons, and things to blow up or flee from. According to Diefenbach, you will play in first person perspective while out and about, but while exploring social areas where you meet other players, it will be in third person perspective to better appreciate your costume and loadouts.
