D&D Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen
November 23, 2022Dungeons & Dragons is releasing perhaps its most ambitious product yet, Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen.
I’ve mentioned previously that D&D is looking to offer a varying array of experiences through its products, and SofTDQ is certainly going to offer that.
It is, like most 5e books, an adventure first and foremost. Set in the Dragonlance world of Krynn, it introduces the world but allows players to make their own judgments on what the world should be. It’s different from Eberron: Shadows of the Last War and Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount in that regard.
What makes it different is that it comes with an optional supplement, the Warriors of Krynn board game. For those unfamiliar with Dragonlance, it is often set in during the War of a Lance, and battles between armies are common. The board game seeks to recreate this experience.

It is completely optional, there are rules for resolving these combats if you don’t have access to the board game.
The Deluxe Edition of Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen comes with the board game – if you’re currently on the fence about which version to buy, we’ve unboxed the deluxe so you can see what’s inside!
It comes with:
- An exclusive foil cover of the Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen
- A DM Screen
- Warriors of Krynn
If you’re curious to SEE all that, check out the unboxing video below!
