Geeks. Super Bowl. The two worlds don’t always collide, but when they do, we get some stellar trailers during the Super Bowl. While the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots played some sort of sports ball, we waited with anticipation for those glorious SB commercials.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is one of the most hotly anticipated sequels on 2017. In this new extended trailer that dropped we get a good look at Ayesha (portrayed by Elizabeth Debicki). Marvel has a lot to offer this coming year.  GoTGv2 is out on May 5.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales

What PoTC are we up to now? Oh, right, the fifth. There are a lot of strange things happening in this trailer, but we do get our initial glimpse of Johnny Depp in his Captain Jack Sparrow role. The film premieres on May 26.

The officially rated R Logan has been wowing us in the past few weeks with the trailers and teasers. This Super Bowl gave us an extra dosage of chills. Logan is set for release on March 3.

Transformers: The Last Knight

Transformers was another trailer to entice viewers to check out an extended trailer online after the initial airing. It’s a pretty smart tactic. Mark Wahlberg leads the cast along with Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel and Laura Haddock. Optimus Prime is gone, so who will win? The film hit theaters in June.

Ghost in the Shell

As one of the biggest anime franchises to become a movie, we did expect a bigger splash from Ghost in the Shell. In the past months, the film has been flanked with controversy, and we we wonder if its sizzle will return for when it hits theaters on March 31.

Movies didn’t just have all the fun! There were plenty of commercials teasing Marvel and Fox’s joint venture with Legion (which airs on February 8 on FX. But, we also got the trailer for Stranger Things season 2, which is gracing our lives on Halloween this year! We included Stranger Things in this movie line-up because face it, we’re all going to binge it in one sitting like it is a movie.
